For centuries the people of Hvar have utilized the island’s natural herbs along with its fertile land to concoct some of the world’s finest delicacies: aromatic goat cheese, cold mint teas, coriander and sage syrup, pepper cakes, dried almond stuffed figs and “prošek”—sweet nectar wine. Not to mention, Hvar turns out some of Croatia’s most revered wine, seafood and handmade cosmetics.
